About Me

I’m an Internal Medicine physician with over a decade of clinical experience. I completed medical school at the University of Colorado and my residency training at the University of California, San Diego.

Before medicine, I earned my degree in Creative Writing from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude. My honors thesis—a young adult fantasy novel—was the culmination of coursework that included “Writing for Children” with former children’s editor Liz Van Doren. I also interned at the Andrea Brown Literary Agency and have been an active member of SCBWI since 2008.

My short stories have been published in The Bookends Review, Planet Magazine, and the University of Pennsylvania’s literary journals. I’ve worked as a movie reviewer for The Orange County Register and wrote a bimonthly opinion column for seven years for The Wave, a Register insert.
